Welcome
When people have been through trauma, the saying, "Everything happens for a reason" can be comforting or can be offensive. Comforting spiritually, that there is a bigger picture and things are operating beyond us and there is greater meaning to events here on earth. It is offensive to some when we think of a child being abused in some way or a person dying young or tragically and all the years of pain and sorrow that brings.
I don't know about these enormous things. I do know what I see. I see that people are extremely hurt and sad by events that happen in their lives and I see that from every trauma and tragedy people either grow or get stuck . Growth is painful and difficult and definitely worth every step on the other end. Being stuck is stifling and overwhelming, sometimes terrifying and can lead to self destruction. Either way, as we walk through life, sometimes we need a little support, a new perspective, a bit of encouragement, another person to bear witness to our journey.
Counseling is a choice, an important decision. It's the first step or a continuation of many steps towards finding yourself. It takes courage, it takes honesty, it takes commitment to yourself, to your present and your future.
If you are thinking about changing your way of being in the world, come, let's talk. I would be honored to walk with you as you explore your journey to yourself...
